For the Love of...Tomato Gravy & Biscuits

Are you ready for some great gravy, with a twist? It's wonderful for breakfast or Anytime! So if you're ready, lets begin!

Gather together:
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
2 to 3 tablespoons flour
3 Tablespoons oil
2 Tablespoons sugar
salt & pepper
2 to 4 cups of milk
10-12 Biscuits
Sausage or bacon...or Both!LOL

Get the bacon and sausage fried up First! This takes the longest to prepare. Also, pop your biscuits in the oven! Now, start the gravy.

Open both cans...the sauce and paste.

Put the oil and flour into a large skillet. Teflon pans work great. Now crank up the heat to medium high and start stirring!

Cook until the roux is a Very light brown.

Once the color is light brown...add the paste And the sauce. Stir and let cook for another few minutes until mixed well and bubbly.

Now get the milk and grab a whisk....start pouring, slowly, while stirring. You'll need the whisk to get those pesky lumps tamed!

Remember the sugar? Throw it in the sauce.

Geez, at This point, all I want to do is get a Huge spoon and Drink!!LOL....You Do need to taste it at this point though. Need more sugar? Add it! More salt? Add it! It's really all about how You like the taste.

Were these biscuits homemade?? Not Today, they weren't! These babies are Grandes, from the grocery freezer case. Wonderful, light and fluffy! But! Any kind will do. Just use the ones You like!

And there you Have it!! I like to put a pat of butter on my biscuits before I ladle on the gravy...Delicious!

And now, if you're Real lucky?? The maid will come in after breakfast...and do the dishes!LOLHaha.....He's such a SaWeeeet maid...I mean, Hubby! Ya'll enjoy!

James would LOVE this, he makes gravy sometimes with peeled sliced tomatoes in it, or sometimes just puts slices of tomatoes on top of his biscuits and pours the milk gravy over.

Not me, I want my tomatoes over
<------here
and my gravy over
------------->there. :-)

Another one for me to try! I would never have thought of tomato gravy on biscuits.

Good point with the sugar. A lot of people don't know to add it to tomato dishes. It seems to tame down the acidity and enhance the flavor, both at the same time.
